Update: I-90 eastbound reopened from Kittitas to Vantage

KITTITAS, Wash. -UPDATE. JANUARY 12. 8:00 a.m. Eastbound I-90 from Kittitas to George is now reopened, according to the Department of Transportation.

The road was closed overnight from Thursday, Jan. 11, until Friday, Jan. 12. The closure lasted for about 14 hours.

UPDATE 11:33 p.m.

According to the Washington State Department of Transportation, crews are working to clear the southbound SR 26 ramp to access the route to Othello and SR 17, however severe weather is creating issues.

Tow trucks are reportedly assisting with clearing spin outs.

WSDOT says traffic is also starting to move slowly and for anyone experiencing an emergency to call 911.

UPDATE 10:31 p.m.

The Washington State Department of Transportation extended the closure on eastbound I-90.

The closure now goes from exit 115 at Kittitas to exit 143 six miles west of George. There is still no estimated time for reopening.

According to the Washington State Department of Transportation, I-90 east of Ellensburg heading eastbound is closed at Kittitas due to poor weather and road conditions.

WSDOT says there is no expected time for reopening.
