KENNEWICK, Wash.- Five credit unions are teaming up to gather donations of hygiene products for Columbia Industries Empowerment Place.

Volunteers from the credit unions will be at 900 South Dayton Street in Kennewick on October 19, which is also International Credit Union Day, to collect donations and prepare winter kits.

Gesa, HAPO, Numerica STCU and Tri-CU are the five unions participating in the drive.

“Credit unions follow a philosophy of people helping people, that’s what we do!” said Doug Wadsworth, Tri-CU CEO and International Credit Union Day committee member. “We are excited to bring together credit union volunteers that share a passion for serving the community.”

The donations will go to Columbia Industries, as they help clients with developmental challenges find resources for housing, jobs, food, as well as providing hygiene products.

The drive will run from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at CI’s Administration Office.
