West Valley Fire-Rescue offering free wildfire risk assessments for property owners

YAKIMA, Wash.-As the weather continues to warm wildfire season is approaching and West Valley Fire and Rescue wants to help homeowners be prepared.

West Valley firefighters are available to perform free wildfire danger assessments for residents.

Trained firefighters will assess properties for wildfire preparedness and provide a copy of the assessment to homeowners, according to a WVFR press release.

The assessments will not be kept or put into any local or state database and are for residents preparedness purposes only.

Residents interested in a wildfire preparedness assessment should call 509-966-3111 or use the “contact us” button on the West Valley Fire and Rescue webpage.

More information on the assessments will be available from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on April 21 at Fire Station 54 located at 10 North Fork Road
