Two police officers took over the delivery of takeaways to hungry customers after they arrested their delivery driver.

Those waiting for their food were surprised when they received a visit from officers on Tuesday (April 9).

Two officers spotted a wanted man in the town, who was working a delivery rider and in the middle of delivering Big Mac burgers in Ipswich, Suffolk.

The “keen takeaway enthusiasts” personally delivered the orders while on their way to the police station.

The officers also had a “crash course” in how to operate the delivery app as they made sure the customers did not miss out on their food.

A Suffolk Police spokesperson said: “Mohammed Fashi, 21, was sought on a warrant for failing to appear at court in connection with an incident of affray.

“He was arrested at Cardinal Park in Ipswich at 6:20pm.”
