Student arrested with BB gun at Richland High

RICHLAND, Wash.-Richland High School was locked down for over an hour on Monday, Nov. 20 for a weapons complaint.

The high school was placed under a lockdown after security staff became aware of a weapons complaint and it was believed a person had a handgun on campus.

Richland Police responded to the school, contacted the suspect and removed a BB gun from their waistband.

According to Richland Police, the suspect, who was a student, was booked into the Benton County Juvenile Justice Center on suspicion of possession of a dangerous weapon and was placed on an emergency expulsion from school.

No injuries were reported in the incident and it is not believed that any threats were made against students or Richland High at this time.
