Tri-Cities, Wash. – If you plan on going out to bars this New Year’s Eve you may want to look out for coasters offering a ride home.

The coasters are in remembrance of Jamin Sovy, a man from the Tri-Cities who died after a driver under the influence crossed the center line and ran into Sovy’s car, according to George Telquist CEO and Attorney of Telaré law.

He said the law firm has sent out these coasters to local bars for people to get home safely and avoid a similar tragedy.

“Go out and have a good time on New Year’s Eve, celebrate the end of 2023 and the beginning of 2024, and remember that you have a loved one, other people have loved ones, get home safely use the voucher, be safe and have a happy new year,” Telequist said.

The coasters work like vouchers and have to be redeemed before the ride is requested.

The trip is meant to take people home and is set up to disallow rides to other bars.

The vouchers only work from 8:30 p.m. on December 31, 2023 to 5:00 a.m. on January 1, 2024.
