Wildland fire burning 45 acres of natural grasses south of Finley

FINLEY, Wash. – Multiple fire crews are responding to a wildland fire south of Finley off South Finley Road and Highway 397 in Benton County.

According to Jenna Kochenauer with Benton County Fire District #1, the fire is burning approximately 45 acres of sagebrush and natural grasses.

One home and multiple outbuildings are threatened at this time according to BCFD#1. Structure protection is in place to protect the home.

Kochenauer asks for people in the area to stay clear as backup crews are struggling to get to the fire.

Crews helping fight the fire include BCFD1, BCFD4, Franklin County Fire District 3 and the Kennewick Fire Department.

There is no call for evacuation at this time.
