Fight in Kennewick results in shot fired, teen arrested

KENNEWICK, Wash. – UPDATE Jan. 23

A 16-year-old was arrested for his involvement in the incident on Tuesday, according to a press release from the Kennewick Police Department.

KPD says he was found on the 6400 block of Chapel Hill Boulevard in Pasco and arrested by the KPD’s Criminal Apprehension Team.

The teen was booked into the Juvenile Justice Center for second degree assault and unlawful firearm possession.

The investigation is ongoing. KPD thanks the Pasco Police Department for its assistance in the arrest.

A shot was fired in Kennewick on Thursday during a fight between two groups of teenagers, according to a press release from the Kennewick Police Department.

KPD says officers responded to a weapons complaint on Jan. 18 at 2:40 p.m. on the 700 block of West Vineyard Drive.

Police say that two groups of teens met in a parking lot to fight each other. During the fight, one teen pulled out a gun which two others fought with him over, causing a shot to be fired.

No firearm-related injuries were reported. The group that had the gun left the area before officers could arrive.
