Yakima’s Community Christmas Tree coming to downtown on Nov. 27

YAKIMA, Wash.-The Holidays are officially here and Yakima’s Community Christmas Tree is set to arrive on Monday, Nov. 27.

Yakima area residents Barry and Jan Rosenkranz provided this year’s tree, which will be transported to and placed in Millennium Plaza between 10 a.m. and 12 p.m.

The official tree lighting ceremony is scheduled for Sunday, Dec. 3, after the annual Holiday Lighted Parade in Downtown Yakima.

Third Street between Yakima Avenue and Chestnut Avenue will be temporarily closed during installation of the tree according to the City of Yakima.

Traffic may also be impacted on 40th Avenue and Fruitvale Boulevard to North 5th Avenue and Yakima Avenue to 3rd St. as the tree is moved to the plaza.
