YAKIMA, Wash.-The search for Yakima’s Community Christmas Tree to be displayed downtown for the holiday season is under way.
Local residents can donate a tree from their property for the annual honor sponsored by the City of Yakima and the Downtown Association of Yakima.
Nominated trees must be an evergreen between 15 and 20 feet tall and be in an area where City crews can access it with a crane and truck, according to a City of Yakima press release.
The tree will be removed at no cost to the owner during the week of Nov. 20th and transported to Millenium Plaza for display after a tree lighting ceremony on Dec. 3.
