Yakima child cook to compete on MasterChef Junior

YAKIMA, Wash.-A child from Yakima will compete on season 9 of MasterChef Junior.

Children between the ages of eight and 11 will compete in challenges, including mystery challenges, kitchen takeovers and barbecues.

Eight-year-old Asher Niles of Yakima will be one of the chefs competing on the reality cooking show that includes mystery challenges, kitchen takeovers, barbecues and more kitchen endeavors.

Niles is the son of popular Yakima chef Shawn Niles, affectionately known as the “Fat Pastor,” who previously competed on “MasterChef”, as well as the Netflix show “Best Leftovers Ever.”

The “Fat Pastor” announced that his son would be competing via a social media post on Feb. 22.
