White Swan man sentenced to prison for sexual abuse of 16-year-old girl

YAKIMA, Wash.- White Swan man sentenced to 10 years in prison for sexual abuse of young girl.

Vanessa R. Waldref, United States Attorney for the Eastern District of Washington, Charlie Jim Peters, 35 of White Swan has been sentenced after pleading guilty to sexual Abuse.

According to court documents, in July 2020, Peters molested a 16-year-old girl on the Yakima Nation reservation while the girl was asleep.

A DNA analysis later confirmed that Peter’s DNA was present at the scene.

“Mr. Peters will fortunately spend the next ten years in prison,” said Richard A. Collodi, Special Agent in Charge of the FBI’s Seattle field office. “While no sentence may seem long enough to a victim of his reprehensible actions, I commend her for taking the steps necessary which ultimately led to this sentence. The FBI and our partners are committed to making our state’s reservations safer for the citizens who call them home.”

Chief United States Judge Stanley Basin sentenced Peters to 120 months in Prison, followed by a five-year supervised release.
