What’s open and closed on Martin Luther King Jr. Day

TRI-CITIES, Wash.-Martin Luther King, Jr. Day is a Federal Holiday, celebrated the third Monday of January every year to honor the life and legacy of Dr. King. This year, the holiday falls on Jan. 15 and many offices will be closed in observance.

Most retail and grocery stores will be open, however, USPS post offices, banks, schools and government offices will be closed.

Local closures for MLK, Jr. Day on Jan. 15:

Mid-Columbia Library branches.City offices, including public works, city halls and administrative offices.Yakima Valley Library branches.Yakima Valley TransitThe Ben Franklin Transit will run on Saturday service schedules on Monday, Jan. 15.All federal, state and county offices.All public schools.
