Special election ballots mailed to Franklin County military and overseas voters

PASCO, Wash.-Military and overseas ballots for the Feb. 13 special election are have been mailed to Franklin County voters.

Ballots are expected to be mailed to all Franklin County voters by Friday, Jan. 26, according to the Auditor’s Office.

Further special election information, including ballot measures and drop box locations is available through the Franklin County website.

In other election news, Secretary of State Steve Hobbs notified the State Legislature on Thursday, Jan. 10 that he has certified one Initiative to the Legislature.

Initiative 2113 concerning vehicle pursuits by police officers was certified, according to a press release from the Secretary of State’s Office and five other initiatives are pending verification.

If enough signatures are verified after a 3 percent sample of signatures are examined the Legislature may approve an initiative or send it to voters.

If the Legislature rejects the initiative or takes no action, the Secretary of State can certify the initiative for voters to consider during the next General Election.
