Semi-truck trailer catches fire and closed one lane of Eastbound I-82 near Granger

GRANGER, Wash.- Eastbound I-82 near Granger has been reduced to one lane of traffic after a semi-truck caught fire.

According to Ken Robillard, Deputy Chief, Yakima County Fire District #5, the breaks on a semi-truck trailer overheated and caught fire.

All eight tires were fully engulfed in flames according to Robillard.

The driver saw the fire and quickly detached the trailer from the tractor.

the trailer was filled with apples.

According to Robillard, no injuries were reported. However, debris is still blocking the righthand lane at exit 58.

According to Robillard, one lane will remain closed for several hours.
