SELAH, Wash.-A Selah man who has been raising money to protect victims of domestic violence since his daughter’s death in 2020 has reached his fundraising goal.
Brian Harris and his family set a goal of raising $500,000 to donate to the YWCA of Yakima through various fundraising efforts after his daughter Emily was killed by her husband.
Thanks to his latest fundraiser, staying in a dog kennel from September 24 through 27, Harris has now reached his goal. The donations will support the YWCA’s efforts of protecting and empowering domestic violence victims.
According to a social media post from Brian Harris, the dog kennel fundraiser brought in a total of $87,325, bringing the Emily Harris Memorial Foundation’s donated total to $537,325.
