KENNEWICK, Wash. – The Kennewick and Pasco Police Departments arrested four people involved with stealing a Kia on Thursday, according to a Facebook post.

KPD says officers were notified by PPD at 2:45 p.m. that a stolen Kia was entering Kennewick from Pasco after it failed to stop for police.

After parking, the four occupants of the Kia ran away on foot. Detectives from KPD, PPD and the Benton County Sheriff’s Office quickly stopped the suspects.

A K-9 search after the arrest did not find any weapons or contraband in the area. PPD is reportedly leading an investigation.

KPD says Kia and Hyundai vehicles have been stolen at increased rates due to security flaws and the viral “Kia Boyz” challenge on social media.
