One of two abused dogs found in Yakima Valley dies, investigation ongoing

YAKIMA, Wash.-An investigation into dog abuse and deaths in the Yakima Valley that has been ongoing since March of this year is continuing, with a reward for information and possible prosecution of the person or people responsible now up to $10,000.

Pasado’s Safe Haven, Peta and the Yakima County Sheriff’s Office are working together to investigate the string of abuse and deaths.

The two dogs found most recently showed signs of extreme abuse and torture, according to Pasado’s and one of them has now died of its injuries.

Phoebe, the surviving dog that was found, is being treated by Pasado’s veterinary team and is expected to make a full recovery according to the shelter.

Pasado’s released photos of Phoebe in the hope that someone will recognize her and come forward with information about her owners or who may be responsible for the abuse she suffered.

Anyone with any information on the ongoing dog abuse in Yakima County is asked to call 1-800-222-TIPS and reference case #23C16859. Tips can also be submitted anonymously on the Yakima County CrimeStopper’s Website.
