WEST VALLEY, Wash.-West Valley Fire-Rescue is reminding everyone of the danger of leaving heat lamps unattended after responding to a fire on the night of Dec. 14.

Two engines responded to the fire in an outbuilding at a residence after an animal reportedly knocked over a heat lamp.

According to West Valley Fire-Rescue, no animals or people were injured in the fire after the homeowner used a garden hose to minimize damage.

This time of year many people are using heat lamps to keep pets and animals warmer, however, fire agencies are warning that the lamps should never be left unattended and should be placed in open areas with nothing around them.
