WASHINGTON, D.C.-House Republicans issued subpoenas to James and Hunter Biden, the President’s son and brother, on Wednesday, Nov. 8 as part of the ongoing impeachment inquiry into the President.

The subpoenas, which focus on the Biden family’s business dealings, call for Hunter to be deposed on Dec. 13 and for James to be deposed on Dec. 6.

According to NBC News reporting on the subpoenas, the House Oversight Committee alleges that the President’s family created shell companies as part of an effort to hide payments from foreign adversaries.

The panel further alleges that the Biden family, their business associates and their companies received more than $24 million from foreign nations over approximately five years according to NBC News.

In response to the subpoenas, White House spokesman Ian Sams said in a memo that “despite spending of taxpayer dollars to conduct this probe, [Republicans] have turned up no evidence to support their outlandish allegations of bribery and “high crimes and misdemeanors,” which they claim are motivating their open-ended ‘impeachment inquiry.'”
