Eighth annual Take Strides Tri-cities suicide prevention walk will be September 27

RICHLAND, Wash.- The Eighth Annual “Take Strides Tri-Cities” suicide prevention walk will be hosted by Richland School District and Tri-Cities Youth Suicide Prevention Coalition on Wednesday, September 27.

The Take Strides Tri-Cities walk is an event that aims to raise awareness to support suicide prevention efforts.

“Attendance at this event continues to grow year after year,” said Richland School District Superintendent Dr. Shelley Redinger. “It is a true testament to the dedication our community has in demonstrating our collective commitment to suicide prevention. I look forward to seeing everyone there.”

The event is free to attend and open to all. Attendees are encouraged to wear yellow for suicide prevention.

The walk will begin at 5:00 p.m. at the Fran Rish Stadium in Richland.

The walk will follow a route to John Dam Plaza.

Speakers will share their stories at the HAPO Community Stage in the Plaza.

Food and community resources will be available at the event.
