Drive-by shooting investigation leads to arrest in Sunnyside

SUNNYSIDE, Wash. – According to a press release from the Sunnyside Police Department, a 15 year old was arrested for being allegedly involved in a drive-by shooting on Thursday.

Sunnyside Police responded to reports of shots being fired on October 12 at around 4:31 p.m. in the 700 block of South 8th Street. Officers found a vehicle matching the reports of the drive-by shooting in the 600 block of South 12th Street.

Officers found a spent shell casing in the bed of the truck. After a warrant was obtained and an investigation, a 15 year old was arrested and booked on charges of drive-by shooting.

Sunnyside Police believe there is one more suspect and investigations are continuing.

On October 13, the Yakima Valley Crime Lab determined that all casings found came from the same firearm.
