Cooke Canyon Road in Kittitas County to close for six months

KITTITAS COUNTY, Wash.-A stretch of Cooke Canyon Road will be closed for the next six months for a bridge replacement project.

The closure between Brick Mill Road and Schnebly Road is expected to last from Nov. 27 until May 2024, according to the Kittitas County Department of Public Works.

Traffic will be detoured onto Lester Road and Schnebly Road and local traffic will be allowed on Cooke Canyon, however, there will be no through access.

According to the KCDPW, the closure is necessary to replace a bridge over the KRD irrigation canal.
