YAKIMA, Wash.-The Yakima Health District will be hosting a community event to share information on nitrate contamination in the Lower Yakima Valley.
Findings from a community engagement project with private well users will be presented on Thursday, October 26 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Sunnyside Community Center at 1521 S. 1st St.
According to the YHD, the community engagement project examined well users’ knowledge and practices regarding nitrate contamination of groundwater.
Local and state agencies will be in attendance to provide information about the local efforts of addressing nitrate contamination.
The YHD invites all Lower Yakima Valley community members to the event. Free food and resources on groundwater contamination will be available.
