KENNEWICK, Wash. – The City of Kennewick announced in a press release that the annual city-wide herbicide application for noxious weed control is set to start at or around April 1.

A map of the affected streets can be found below.

The City says weeds in the curb and gutter line and gravel shoulders of all main roadways in Kennewick will get a layer of herbicide.

The herbicide is mixed with yellow dye to help with the wet application. After 30 minutes, the herbicide will dry and will be safe for people and pets to walk on.

The yellow dye will fade after approximately three to four weeks.

Wet herbicide is dangerous to touch. If you come in contact with wet herbicide, the City says you should remove contaminated clothing and rinse your skin immediately for 15 to 20 minutes.

Questions can be directed to the City of Kennewick Public Works Department at 509-585-4419.
