Burbank targeted in car theft ring, one suspect in custody

WALLA WALLA COUNTY, Wash.-One person was arrested and two other suspects are still at-large after allegedly stealing cars on the night of Jan. 24.

According to the Walla Walla County Sheriff’s Office, the group entered the Burbank Heights area and began stealing cars.

One of the suspects was caught by the Walla Walla Police Department’s K9 team, however other suspects got away.

Burbank Heights residents located the two other suspects on the morning of Jan. 25 and notified authorities. According to the WWCSO, the suspects stole another car and fled before deputies arrived.

The suspects left behind ammunition and gun magazines, however, no gun was recovered at the scene.

The alleged car thieves seem to be targeting cars that are left unlocked and the WWCSO is encouraging everyone to lock their car doors and to report any suspicious activity that they see.

Car theft prevention tips:

Always lock your car doors.Do not leave unattended cars running.Do not leave valuables in view inside your car.
