PASCO, Wash.-Chris Mortensen is the new Deputy Fire Chief of the Pasco Fire Department.

A badging in ceremony was held for Deputy Chief Mortensen on April 19 at Pasco’s Fire Station 84, although he has been serving in his new position since March 31.

A lifelong Tri-Cities resident, Mortensen graduated from Richland High and CBC and has over 18 years of emergency management experience, including working in Grant County and Moses Lake before returning to Pasco in 2016, according to a Pasco press release on his hiring.

“Chris Mortensen’s extensive experience and commitment to the Tri-Cities make him the ideal choice for Deputy Fire Chief,” said City Manager Adam Lincoln. “We are confident that his leadership will greatly benefit the department and the safety of our community.”
