Yakima Valley nonprofits awarded foundation grants

YAKIMA, Wash.-Nonprofits in the Yakima Valley have been awarded a share of over $150,000 in grants from the Blaine & Preciosa Tamaki Foundation.

Nonprofits throughout the Yakima Valley will receive $136,250 in funding through the foundations sixth round of grants.

The Tamaki foundation supports organizations and nonprofits working to improve the quality of life and well-being of individuals and families.

Yakima nonprofits receiving grants:

Yakima Valley Museum: $20,000 over multiple years for its “Land of Joy and Sorrows” exhibit.MultiCare Memorial Hospital: $50,000 over multiple years to upgrade the Family Birthplace area.UW Yakima Business Certificate Program: $100,000 over multiple years to support the growth of the program.Yakima Greenway: $100,000 over multiple years for the Tamaki Viewpoint at the 16th Ave. rest area.
