YAKIMA, Wash. – UPDATE Jan. 10

The wanted man who was taken into custody Tuesday night has been identified.

Yakima Police Department PIO Yvette Inzunza says 27-year-old Cody Dean Phillips was arrested following the manhunt for charges of robbery and first degree assault.

Court documents say that Phillips is also facing charges for unlawful firearm possession and taking a vehicle without permission.

According to court documents, police arrived at the Yakima Inn at 1022 N. 1st St. at 5:33 a.m. on Dec. 28 after a 911 call reported two people shot at the inn.

Surveillance footage showed that Phillips allegedly shot another man in the inn after intimidating him and attempting robbery.

A second man was also shot at the inn but it is unclear whether or not Phillip shot him.

After the confrontation, court documents say that Phillips and a group of suspects fled from the Yakima Inn together in a vehicle, which was discovered to be stolen.

Phillips was identified in the investigation from both surveillance footage and a credit card with his name on it in the vehicle.

Court documents say that police found probable cause to arrest Phillips for attempted murder, attempted robbery, unlawful firearm possession and stolen vehicle possession. This led to his arrest on Tuesday.
