Yakima jury convicts Everett man with felony child rape charges

YAKIMA, Wash.- Washington State Attorney General Bob Ferguson Veniamin N. Gaidaichuk from Everett has been charged with felony second-degree child rape.

he has also been charged with communication with a minor for immoral purposes.

Sentencing has not occurred. He is expected to serve a standard sentence of 90 days to 118.5 months in prison.

The maximum penalty is life in prison.

This is the first conviction related to the November 2019 “Net Nanny” law enforcement operation in Yakima.

On November 15, 2019, Gaidaichuk posed online as “Ben” and contacted a 13-year-old girl. The 13-year-old was undercover law enforcement.

Gaidaichuk then spoke on the phone with the girl who was actually the undercover officer.

Gaidaichuk and the undercover officer texted for several days and she encouraged him to come over to her house in Yakima.

He then said he was on his way to her house.

When he arrived at her house on November 17 he was arrested by police.

According to court documents, there was a box of of condoms in his backseat.

“The work of law enforcement across the state to protect children is vital,” Ferguson said. “Keeping our communities safe from predators is an important part of my office’s work. I appreciate our partnership with the Washington State Patrol and Yakima County to investigate these cases and keep child predators off the streets.”
