Washington, D.C. — On May 1, Congressman Dan Meuser and Williamsport small business owners Vince and Selina Pulizzi took a trip to the U.S. Capitol Building for the House Small Business Committee’s “Small Business Showcase” event.

During the event, entrepreneurs from around the U.S. were invited to highlight their businesses and speak with Congress members about political issues that are affecting their businesses.

Congressman Meuser invited Vince and Selina Pulizzi, owners of Labels by Pulizzi in Williamsport, to participate in the event. Labels by Pulizzi was one of the fifteen businesses that participated in the event. Family-owned since 1968, Labels by Pulizzi is a custom printing company that employs 32 people in Lycoming County. Since opening its doors, the business has provided its clients with over a billion custom labels of all kinds.

The timing of the event coincides with National Small Business Week, which began Sunday, April 28, and runs through Saturday, May 4.

Congressman Meuser said, “Small businesses are the heart of the American economy and the foundation of our communities. During National Small Business Week, and always, we champion small businesses across Pennsylvania for all they do to support our local economies. The Small Business Showcase was a great opportunity to shine a light on Main Street and give them the recognition they have earned. I was happy to be joined at the Showcase by the owners of Labels by Pulizzi, Vince and Selina Pulizzi, to highlight their business and share with Members of Congress the hurdles entrepreneurs face.”

Meuser continued, “As the Chairman of the Small Business Subcommittee on Economic Growth, Tax, and Capital Access, advocating for pro-growth initiatives that benefit entrepreneurs is one of my top priorities. I am committed to fighting for policies that will help our small business community thrive, while working to oppose the Biden Administration’s burdensome rules, regulations, and taxes that stifle innovation and hinder success. Small Businesses are suffering from rising inflation, increased energy costs, and onerous mandates under this Administration. The Biden Administration is out of touch with the realities facing entrepreneurs and must correct course to help get our economy back on track.”

The Pulizzis added: “As third-generation owners of a label manufacturer in central Pa., we have seen the ebbs and flows of the industry and economy over the years. We recognize the current climate in our nation and know it’s more important than ever to work together with our leaders to initiate change. Small business is the backbone of our country, and we can’t thank Congressman Meuser enough for all the work he is doing to help small businesses thrive.”

For the last 60 years, the U.S. Small Business Administration has sponsored National Small Business Week, which acknowledges the critical contributions of America’s entrepreneurs and small business owners.
