Wildland fire burning 45 acres south of Finley closes Finley Road

FINLEY, Wash. – Multiple fire crews are responding to a wildland fire south of Finley in Benton County.

Benton County Fire District 1 announced on Facebook that Finley Road southeast of Highway 397 has been closed for the safety of fire crews.

According to Jenna Kochenauer with BCFD1, the fire is burning approximately 45 acres of sagebrush and natural grasses.

One home and multiple outbuildings are threatened at this time according to BCFD#1. Structure protection is in place to protect the home.

Kochenauer asks for people in the area to stay clear as backup crews are struggling to get to the fire.

Crews helping fight the fire include BCFD1, BCFD4, Franklin County Fire District 3 and the Kennewick Fire Department. Dozer lines have been established and water is being trucked in.

There is no call for an evacuation at this time.
