EUGENE, Ore. – The suspected murderer of two women and abductor of a one-year-old child from West Richland is confirmed dead after a pursuit near Eugene, Oregon, according to the West Richland Police Department.
Elias Huizar, 39, was spotted at around 3 p.m. on Tuesday by the Oregon State Patrol driving southbound on I-5.
WRPD says the pursuit ended with Huizar sustaining a self-inflicted gunshot wound. WRPD Commander Mitchell Coates confirmed with NonStop Local that died as a result.
The one-year-old child, Roman Santos, is safe and was taken in by OSP troopers.
WRPD says a press conference with more information will be released on Wed., April 24 at 10 a.m.
