SOUTH CLE ELUM, Wash. – Kittitas County Sheriff’s deputies and private bail bondsmen came out empty-handed following a search for a wanted felon in South Cle Elum on Tue., April 23.

KCSO says at around 11:30 a.m., Donald Myers, 40, of Cle Elum was found in a home on Cleveland Avenue by bondsmen. KCSO responded to help the bondsmen.

The hunt for Myers was based on active arrest warrants for unlawful firearm possession, possession of stolen property, malicious mischief and eluding police pursuit. KCSO notes he has a documented history running from and fighting law enforcement when facing arrest.

Bondsmen entered the home and saw Myers in the attic, threatening to shoot. Deputies formed a perimeter around the home to ensure Myers did not escape.

Deputies ordered for Myers to surrender several times to no avail. A dog also could not find him.

KCSO then used irritant gas to try to drive Myers out, however that did not work either. Deputies finally searched the house by hand and did not find anyone.

Deputies suspect that Myers escaped before or while KCSO was being notified.

Anyone with information on his location is asked to call KITTCOM at 509-925-8534 and to provide information to Pro-Act Deputy Matt Meckley.
