Washington State Patrol, Traffic Safety Commission urge drivers to pre-plan for a safe Super Bowl

OLYMPIA, Wash.-Football fans across the country are getting ready to join family and friends at parties for the Super Bowl and the Washington Traffic Safety Commission and State Patrol are urging everyone to make a game plan to get home safe.

“Impaired driving continues to be the number one cause of death on our roads,” said WTSC Communications Manager, Erica Stineman. “We need everyone to make sure they drive completely sober and if the situation arises, prevent others from getting behind the wheel while impaired.”

According to the WTSC, some pregame planning can ensure a safe Super Bowl for everyone.

Play calls for a safe Super Bowl:

Pre-plan for a ride home from a rideshare or cab.Use public transportation.Designate a sober driver before kickoff.Arrange for family or friends to stay overnight after the game.Call 911 if you see or suspect someone is driving impaired.
