SEATTLE, Wash.-If you’re planning to attend the College Football National Championship Game, you should also prepare to spend some serious money.

The University of Washington defeated the Texas Longhorns 37-31 in the Sugar Bowl to advance to the National Championship game against Michigan in Houston on Jan. 8.

While diehard Husky fans may have purchased their tickets in advance when UW made the playoffs, those still looking for plane and game tickets should be prepared to possibly spend thousands of dollars.

According to King 5 reporting by Alex Didion on travel for the big game, the current cheapest flight from Seattle to Houston runs about $1,000 and prices are expected to rise over the next week.

Tickets for the game itself are also pricey, with the cheapest seat on Ticketmaster currently listed at $1,100.

As with other Universities and major sporting events, first-priority for UW’s National Title Game tickets goes to season ticket holders, followed by the biggest donors to the athletic department and then to the fans, according to King 5.
