KENNEWICK, Wash. – Over a month after the murder of 36-year-old Fernando Pulido, the Kennewick Police Department has arrested two people for their involvement in the shooting. A press release from Sergeant Joe Santoy reports the two suspects were arrested October 31 at around 3:30 p.m. in Pasco.

The shooting occurred September 21 around the 3700 block of W 4th Avenue, where first responders reportedly arrived to an unconscious Pulido. They noted he had a gunshot wound and took him to the hospital, where he died.

KPD has been investigating the murder since then, according to Santoy. In that time, detectives developed probable cause for the arrest of a 29-year-old Richland man on suspicion of second-degree murder.

According to the probable cause for arrest documents issued in Benton County Superior Court, KPD Detectives cleared the residence the night of the shooting and found a single 9mm bullet casing in the home.

On September, 22, the day after the shooting, KPD Detectives obtained a search warrant and viewed surveillance footage from a neighboring home, as well as from an FBI pole camera that was in place from a previous investigation.

Detectives heard a gunshot in the video and saw two males run from the home, followed by a female and another male.

Court documents reveal that on October, 5, the KPD received an anonymous tip naming the shooter.

Detectives interviewed witnesses that had been arrested on suspicion of gun charges that were at the shooting location on the night of September, 21.

According to court documents the witnesses reported that Pulido and another man were fighting with a bat in a room of the house when the male suspect shot once through the door.

After the shooting the suspect left in Pulido’s car, with money and drugs in it.

The man was found in Pasco and booked into the Benton County Jail. He was with a 36-year-old female from Pasco, who was also taken into custody. She was booked into the Benton County Jail on suspicion of first-degree rendering criminal assistance.
