Two Hermiston men arrested for possession of ghost guns

HERMISTON, Ore.- Two men arrested for possession of ghost guns in Hermiston

According to a Facebook post made by the Hermiston Police Department, at 8:40 p.m. on Oct. 10, officers received reports of four people acting suspiciously on the 1000 block of Southwest 11th Street.

When officers arrived they were able to talk to two of the suspects.

The suspects were two men from Hermiston age 22 and 18. Both were found to be in possession of 9mm “ghost” guns.

Both men were processed and booked into the Umatilla County Jail for charges of unlawful Possession of a Firearm.

According to HPD, ghost guns are unregulated un-serialized, and untraceable. The guns are purchased in parts and then reassembled to avoid background checks.

According to HPD, detectives are conferring with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms agents.
