KENNEWICK, Wash. – The Tri-City Regional Chamber of Commerce (TCRCC) announced the hiring of Matt Murphy as the chamber’s Government and Regional Affairs Director on Tuesday, according to a press release.

In his new position, Murphy will represent the organization on the Tri-Cities Legislative Council and spearhead the Regional Chamber’s advocacy initiatives.

Murphy previously spent nine years as the President and CEO of the South Kitsap Chamber of Commerce in Port Orchard, WA where he was honored as the Grassroots Alliance Advocate of the Year by the Association of Washington Business in 2021.

“Matt’s previous experience within the chamber of commerce industry and his advocacy for business owners position him perfectly to lead our government affairs efforts,” said President and CEO of TCRCC Lori Mattson.

Murphy has also served on other boards like the Washington Chamber of Commerce Executive Board of Directors, the Olympic Workforce Development Council Board of Directors and more.

He has also served in the Washington Army National Guard and is a Gonzaga University graduate.

“I believe collaboration and cooperation are our greatest assets for making change,” said Murphy. “Business, elected officials, and citizens all want the same thing: to make the Tri-Cities a great place to live, work, and play.”
