YAKIMA, Wash. – According to the Yakima Police Department, construction is starting on North First Street in Yakima on Wed., Feb. 7.
YPD says traffic is expected to be heavily impacted. Drivers are asked to follow speed limits posted by work crews.
The intersections of North First Street and D Street, Lincoln Avenue and MLK Avenue will be treated as four-way stops with flashing red lights in all directions.
Drivers are advised to use alternate routes if possible. YPD officers will be monitoring the area for traffic and speed violations.
YPD says the work zone speed limit is 20 mph.
