SWAT situation ongoing in Kennewick, Southridge under non-critical lockdown

KENNEWICK, Wash.-Kennewick Police and SWAT are currently responding to a situation at a home on Dawes St. in south Kennewick.

Kennewick Police, the Benton County Sheriff’s Office, Kennewick Fire and medical personnel from the Benton County Fire District are reportedly on scene.

According to Commander Aaron Clem with Kennewick Police, the situation started when two people, a man and a woman, were reported missing. The missing persons investigation led to a home at 2800 Dawes St. that is believed to be occupied.

South Dawes is currently closed and KPD is asking neighbors to evacuate or shelter in place.

Southridge High School is currently under a non-critical lockdown due to the ongoing situation according to school administration.

According to NonStop Local staff on scene flash bangs are being used by law enforcement.
