Semi trailer fire temporarily closes lane on I-82 north of Selah

SELAH, Wash. –

UPDATE 5:52 p.m.

According to the Washington State Department of Transportation’s real-time map, the highway has been fully reopened.

In a press memo from the Washington State Patrol, a man was driving on I-82 with a trailer attached to his vehicle when the tire of the trailer caught fire at around 9:22 a.m.

The fire spread to the rest of the trailer and was totalled.

The right lane of I-82 was blocked for a total of seven hours.

According to the Washington State Department of Transportation’s real-time map, a semi trailer fire on I-82 eastbound north of Selah is delaying traffic.

The fire is at milepost 26 and has closed the right lane, however traffic is now moving through the left lane. WSDOT says drivers may experience delays when driving in the area.
