Rock scaling project at Rimrock Tunnel complete, no longer seeing delays

NACHES, Wash. – UPDATE April 1

According to the Washington State Department of Transportation, the rock scaling project on US 12 at Rimrock Tunnel is now complete.

WSDOT says crews began an emergency repair project on Sat., March 30 due to a large amount of rock on the roadway.

The work was completed ahead of schedule and the previously expected two-hour traffic delays will no longer be necessary.

Traffic through Rimrock Tunnel on US 12 is expected to see several long delays due to an emergency rock scaling project, according to the Washington State Department of Transportation.

WSDOT says US 12 will be closed for two hours at a time every day of the week between 6 a.m. and 6 p.m.

The closures start Sat., March 30. The closures will continue until the work is complete.
