RICHLAND, Wash.-A project to upgrade Richland’s streetlights to LED lights was recently completed.

Richland Energy Services upgraded 4,300 streetlights throughout the city, with new light-emitting diode lights, ranging in wattage from 45 to 100, according to the City of Richland.

Energy Services presented an incentive payment check to Richland Public Works at the City Council meeting on Dec. 19 from the Bonneville Power Administration, with the funds helping to offset the cost of the upgrade project.

LED lights last longer than traditional bulbs, are cheaper and provide a higher quality and coverage for safety, according to the City of Richland.
