Richland Police searching for hit-and-run suspect

RICHLAND, Wash. – The Richland Police Department is asking for help from the community in finding the suspect of a felony hit-and-run collision from early Sunday morning.

RPD says at around 1:30 a.m. on Sun., May 5, a car was caught on a CCTV camera hitting a person crossing Columbia Center Boulevard near SR 240.

The driver of the early-to-mid 2000s Toyota Avalon or Lexus IS/GS did not stop and drove away. Video footage last showed the car near North Kellogg Street and West Clearwater Avenue.

The person who was hit was brought to a nearby hospital with serious injuries.

RPD notes that the car had a distinctive silver trim around its windows and will likely have damage to the front and/or passenger side mirror.
