Richland elects new leadership, including first female Mayor since 1958

RICHLAND, Wash.-New leaderships was sworn in at the Richland City Council meeting on Jan. 2.

According to the City of Richland, new councilmember Kurt Maier was sworn in for his first term of office and Ryan Whitten, Theresa Richardson, Jhoanna Jones, and Shayne VanDyke were reelected to their positions.

The City Council elected Councilmember Theresa Richardson as Mayor and Councilmember Sandra Kent as Mayor Pro-Tem.

Richardson has served on the City Council since 2022 and is Richland’s first female Mayor since 1958, according to the City.
