Redesigned VoteWA portal launched statewide

OLYMPIA, Wash.-A new VoteWA portal focused on usability and accessibility launched statewide on Dec. 26.

The new online portal, launched by the Office of the Secretary of State, features a new-look website, user-informed navigation and accessibility features to help voters easily and quickly find what they need, according to a press release on its launch.

“VoteWA’s new intuitive design reflects our commitment to providing excellent service to Washingtonians both in person and online,” said Secretary of State Steve Hobbs.

New VoteWA features:

Compatibility with screen readers and assistive technology tools.Responsive and interactive interface design for mobile users.Improved notifications for messages from county elections offices that may require voter action.

Originally established in 2019, VoteWA enables election officials across Washington to manage voter registration data and issue, track, and process ballots in real-time.

According to the Secretary of State’s Office, VoteWA provides the access and security for same-day registration, automatic voter registration, and the future voter program.

“Voters will find it much easier to get the information and services they need with one quick visit to the improved VoteWA website,” said Secretary Hobbs.
