Prosser Police Chief on administrative leave for investigation

PROSSER, Wash. – According to a press release from the City of Prosser, Prosser Police Chief Jay King was placed on administrative leave on Thursday, Jan. 11 for a third-party investigation.

The press release says the investigation is regarding allegations from Prosser Police Department staff. The investigation will begin on Wednesday, Jan. 17 and will continue until all allegations have been investigated.

Sergeant John Markus has been appointed as Interim Police Chief for the investigation.

King was originally appointed as Prosser Police Chief on Feb. 28, 2023. He previously served in Montgomery, AL and Unalaska, AK.
