Pasco man sentenced for open fire on Pasco Police Officers

PASCO, Wash.- A Pasco man is sentenced to prison for charges of attempted murder and assault.

On September 25, Miguel Angel Montalvo was sentenced to 596 months in prison, or 49.5 years.

According to the Pasco Police Department, Montalvo is a repeat offender. His sentence comes after a plea deal was reached with the Franklin County Prosecutors.

According to court documents Montalvo was found guilty of 15 different charges including, attempted murder and false imprisonment.

Montalvo was involved in an incident in March of 2020 which involved the attempted murder of two Pasco Police Officers.

When exiting the back door of a home Montalvo and one other person opened fire on Pasco Police Officers who had formed a perimeter in the ally way behind the home.

The two Police officers then returned fire and stuck both of the suspects.

Montalvo was struck by the officer’s gunfire and was injured The other individual did die as a result of the Pasco Police return fire.
