Pasco Fire Department responds to residential fire on West Ainsworth Street

PASCO, Wash.- UPDATE 8:36 p.m. According to Pasco Fire Department, Deputy Fire Chief, Ed Dunbar, West Ainsworth Street is closed from South 12th Ave to South 11th Ave in Pasco.

Fire crews arrived on scene just after 6:00 p.m. to find white smoke coming from the home.

According to PFD, the fire was in the attic of the home and was difficult for crews to access.

Fire alarms inside the home did not go off until crews gained access to the attic fire.

The family was able to safely evacuate.

According to PFD, the fire has been extinguished. However the family will not be able to return due to the damaged roof.

According to PFD, roads will remain closed for a few hours while crews mop up.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
